VW introduces Polo Vivo GT

Volkswagen this week expanded its best-selling Polo Vivo range with the addition of a sportier two-door derivative named the GT. The Polo Vivo GT is based on the current two-door body version and is fitted with 1.6-litre, 77kW engine and Trendline specification, including standard features such as ABS, electric windows, Radio/CD with 4-speakers, alarm and central locking with remote and bee sting antenna.

In addition to these features, Polo Vivo GT will be distinguished by a lowered, sporty suspension, sports seats with ‘Rocket’ trim, a gear shift and handbrake boot with red stitching, a 3-spoke steering wheel with red stitching and aluminum inserts, 15-inch alloy wheels, a tailgate spoiler, twin chrome tailpipes, GT badges on grille and tailgate, red seat belts and dashboard panels in gunmetal silver

The 1.6-litre engine 77kW engine also produces 155Nm of torque, which is available at 5 250 r/min, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It reaches its top speed at 187km/h and sprints from 0-100km/h in just under 11 seconds, boasting a commendable combined fuel consumption figure of 6.6-litres/100km.

The Polo Vivo GT will only be available in four exterior colours, namely Deep Black, Candy White, Flash Red and Reflex Silver, and retails for R155 320, inclusive of a 3-year/120 000km warranty and a 6-year Anti-Corrosion warranty. A service plan is optional.
